As soon as Tennessee’s spring football camp concluded after only one week, things got really weird there for a while.
The Vols weren’t just sent away from the football facility. They and the rest of UT’s students, like their peers across the country, were sent home to finish the spring semester online because of the worldwide novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Access to Tennessee’s world-class strength and conditioning (and dining) facilities was forbidden, even for players who stayed in town at their off-campus apartments or homes. Only those rehabbing injuries were allowed in the building.
Putting it as mildly as possible, things often taken for granted became much more difficult.
