COVID-19 Updates:

Dear Members,

We hope that everyone is continuing to stay healthy and following the guidelines as laid out by the CDC. We know that these times are trying for people for many different reasons. Please remember we have a wonderful group of people that are part of the ATs Care program in Tennessee, so if you need support, please reach out through our website or to Brad Swope directly (bradswope@comcast.net).

The following organizations have updated information regarding COVID-19. The CDC has updated the situation summary and new information can be accessed through their website. The NATA has partnered with Go4Ellis to help place athletic trainers in healthcare organizations to help during the pandemic, and the TSSAA issued a spring sport position update.

The CDC released an updated situation summary March 26th. It is posted below.

NATA

“NATA and Go4Ellis, a mobile per-diem job platform, have joined forces to connect thousands of athletic trainers with understaffed hospitals and health care organizations throughout the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic. The portal was originally designed to provide sporting/local events with appropriate health care for youth athletes; however, in light of the current health care needs, it has been modified to support hospital systems and health care organizations in need of COVID-19 support.”

TSSAA

“The Board voted to maintain the current policy that the regular season for spring sports’ competition is still left up to school administrators, local boards of education, etc. If a school decides to not have any regular season games, they could not be prohibited from entering the postseason, if tournaments are held.”
